1. If I knew absolutely nothing about Lori Michaels,
how would you describe the group’s music to me?
-- My tracks on my debut full length cd "LIVING
MY LIFE OUT LOUD" are Pop, Dance, R&B, w/ a rock-ish touch ---a
fusion of sounds that should make you move (or sway) or sometimes cry ('cause
I just couldn't leave out the love songs!)
2. If I were to buy your new album Living My
Life Out Loud, what songs should I pay particular attention to and
why?
-- It totally depends what you are in the mood
for...If you are looking to marry your soulmate, listen to "UNCONDITIONALLY"...If
you are feelin' a little sexy for someone, throw on "BE MINE"...If
you are in the mood to be with more than one someone (at the same time)
or at the least, just to playfully tease that someone that you just
might be into that-- "TWO AT A TIME" should be fine...If
you made a mistake one night & regret it and that mistake just
won't leave you alone-"GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD" should do
it. And if you are feeling happy and gay-if only for a day-"MEET
ME AT THE PARTAY" is the way to go (after all, the gays & the "gay
friendlies " really do know how to have a good time!)
3. When did you decide music was for you and is
music paying the bills yet? --
Music has been a part of my life forever...It's not paying all of my bills-
at the moment (but, maybe I just have a lot of bills???)
4.
What was your worst on stage experience? What was your
best?
-- Being on stage is so ridiculously natural to
me & I truly enjoy being able to perform-anywhere an audience would
welcome me to do so. But, I think one of the worst moments was performing
when I was totally TOO sick to perform & I barely made it off stage
before my head was in the trash...Ya, that was pretty bad!!!! My best
moments always come when I feel the audience really enjoying the show...and
even singing along.
5. Do you think that the Internet (whether it be Internet
radio, legal downloading, MySpace, streaming audio, etc.) is a good tool
for musicians or is it a bad thing because it hinders profits?
-- I can respect and appreciate all sides of this.
I am a music lover and I enjoy being able to hear and have music accessible
to me-all the time. But, as an artist in this "business" it can
be frustrating if you are losing out on being able to get paid for your work.
With that said, I still think you can be creative with how you make and spend
money in life- the trick is finding the right ways for this to work well-
for everyone.
